    🍽 Kitchen Equipment

    • Blender: you will need a blender to pulverize the avocado, condensed milk, and ice to create a creamy avocado smoothie.

    🛒 Ingredients

This Vietnamese avocado smoothie recipe or sinh tố bơ is very easy to make using only 4 easy to find simple ingredients.

    • Haas avocado: if possible, freeze your Haas avocado in advance for a thicker colder consistency. Freezing the avocado in advance also prevents the avocado from turning too ripe.
    • Condensed milk: condensed milk is the main sweetener and flavor ingredient in this avocado smoothie. It is a very popular ingredient in Vietnamese cuisine.
    • Milk: adds an additional creaminess to the smoothie while also subtly thinning out the consistency. You can always add more milk if you prefer a less dense smoothie.
    • Ice: the ice will thicken up the smoothie and give it that fresh and cold texture
All the ingredients needed to make Vietnamese avocado smoothie.

    ✨ Substitutions and Additions

    • Milk: you can opt for any milk of your choice such as almond milk, oat milk, lactose-free milk etc.
    • Condensed milk: you can easily find condensed milk in your local grocery market. However, you can substitute condensed milk for granulated sugar, brown sugar, or honey.
    • Fruit: you can mix up the flavors of this smoothie by adding your own fruit such as mango, lychee, strawberry, dragon fruit, jackfruit, etc. The options are endless.

⭐️ Tips for the Best Vietnamese Avocado Smoothie

    • Use a knife to remove the pit. The easiest way to remove an avocado pit is to carefully wedge the knife inside the pit, twist the knife and pull the pit out.
    • Freeze the avocado. Freezing the avocado will give the smoothie an added thickness without adding more liquid. It is similar to the effect of freezing fruit for regular smoothies.
    • This recipe uses small Haas avocados. If you have a large Haas avocado, use 1 large avocado instead of 2 small avocados.
    • Adjust the condensed milk based on your sweetness preference. If you like a less sweet drink, opt for less condensed milk or add more for a sweeter and creamier finish.

    🥡 Storage Instructions

Enjoy this Vietnamese avocado smoothie (sinh tố bơ) immediately. If you store it in the refrigerator, the ice will melt and the consistency will not be the same. But it will stay fresh in the refrigerator in an airtight container for 1-2 days.

    💬 Frequently Asked Q’s & A’s

Can you make this avocado smoothie in advance?

This Vietnamese avocado smoothie is best served and enjoyed immediately. I don’t recommend making it in advance since the ice will melt and create a watery texture that isn’t as appetizing. However, you can store it in an airtight container for 1-2 days in the refrigerator.

Is avocado in a smoothie good for you?

Yes! avocados are high in protein, and unsaturated fat and are an excellent source of fiber. They are also known to boost your brain and energy levels.
