  • Rinse the rice. Add the white and black rice to the rice cooker and rinse 4 times with cold water until the water runs clear.
  • Drain and add water. Drain the rice and add 2 cups of fresh water.
  • Soak. Soak the rice in water for at least 30 minutes, up to 2 hours. If using a pressure cooker or pressure rice cooker, you can skip this step.
  • Cook. Cook the rice on the white rice setting.
  • Serve. Once the rice cooker finishes, let the purple rice sit for an additional 5 minutes, then stir with a rice paddle and enjoy!
