The star of this dish is the seedless Japanese cucumbers, but you can easily substitute these. All these ingredients can easily be found at your local asian grocery store.

Slice the Cucumbers


Use a mandolin for a faster and more consistent slice.

Remove Excess Water


Sprinkle cucumbers with salt, let sit, then rinse, ring out and dry slices.

Mix Dressing


Combine the sesame seeds, soy sauce, sugar, and rice vinegar to make the dressing.

Toss Sunomono Salad


Toss the sliced cucumbers with the dressing.
